Teachers on the STEM Inter-Disciplinary Team met early before school to plan for this school years STEM goals throughout our school subjects. Teachers discussed the STEM standards and ways to implement STEM in their classrooms. Team members met with their teams to deliver the information given by STEM/CTAE Director, Mr. Ian Lyle.
CHS students were honored for producing teacher videos of CES teachers that were shared on the district’s website and with individual families before the start of school. Eight students were dedicated to this project for the entire 2018-2019 school year and produced 123 individual video profiles of all teachers. Under the direction of CHS teacher Jon Maples, core students who were juniors last year are leading the efforts to complete the project this school year for Carrollton Upper Elementary School. Team members honored Tuesday night were, from left, Brent Parvechio, Abbie Sinclair, Paige Blackmon, Gideon Wimberly, Ana Hernandez, Sonya Ivashchenko and Kayla Borchers. #trojansWILLcreate #trojansWILLproduce
Southwire welcomed students to the 2019-2020 Southwire Engineering Academy with a luncheon and orientation. The prestigious program provides a year-long internship opportunity to CHS senior students. Students work in groups with company engineers to jointly work on important Southwire projects during the year and present their solutions to senior leadership in the spring. We are grateful to have a partnership with Southwire so our students are able to have this wonderful opportunity!#trojansWILLengineer #swea
