- STEM K12 1: School/program provides equitable opportunities for students to engage in high quality STEM learning
|
Students are recruited during arena registration, open house, and through advisement. Students at Carrollton Junior High School are given the opportunity to participate in a STEM pathway during both their 7th and 8th grade years. Students that complete the STEM pathway are given first consideration for entrance into the STEM program at the high school. In addition, the 8th graders are provided information on the STEM program during a scheduled tour of the high school.
The STEM program is showcased at parenting events at the elementary and middle school levels to increase community awareness and student interest. In addition, TSA, VEX Robotics, and ROV co-curricular programs have been established in 4-12th grade to increase student interest in STEM studies. |
