STEM Experiences
|
Carrollton High School is well ahead of the curve in providing students with opportunities to engage in diverse, relevant, and meaningful STEM learning experiences. As a result of the positive impact from the CHS STEM programs, teachers, administrators, students, parents, and community stakeholders are anxious and excited about improving and expanding STEM learning opportunities, believing education in this area is truly a difference maker for the Carrollton City children and their future.
Students are afforded the opportunity to apply STEM learning through participation in competitive clubs and co-curricular activities such as the CHS ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) Team and the TSA VEX Robotics Team. Over the last five consecutive years, the CHS ROV Team has placed in the top 10 internationally, including one third place finish in the world. The TSA VEX Robotics Team has also experienced incredible success during the past five years, including earning several region and state awards such as the Think Award and the Excellence Award. |
Additionally, students are encouraged to participate in the Region Technology Fair, Science Fair, and Skills USA Competitions. Many CHS students have advanced to the state-level in these events.

Program, Vex Robotic components, AutoDesk Design Academy Software, LearnMate Learning Management System, high performance computers, CNC Mill technology, Lifesize HD video conferencing equipment, four Interactive whiteboards, four digital projectors, student/teacher sound system, student response system, document camera, DVD recorder, blue tooth slate, SCORBOT package, laser drill press, delta band saw, delta dust collector, material testing with buster, large/wide format printer, Vexnet Adapter Key , Omni Directional wheel, Turntable bearing kit, CNC router, Dimension Rapid Protoyping Machine, and LearnMate Lab laser pro-engraver.
Finally, our community partners understand and whole-heartedly support the STEM initiative at CHS. They are enthusiastic about providing resources, internship opportunities, and sharing their employees to serve as role models for our students, and are dedicated to continue their support because our students today are their employees tomorrow.
