The CHS RALIN Academy students have been busy prefabricating a Jobsite office trailer porch and step units which will double as the class Homecoming float.
The class has also started preparing for an upcoming Skills Challenge hosted by the AGC and Cedartown High School. We will compete against 11 other Northwest Ga High and Trade schools in the carpentry, masonry, and blueprint reading events. Our Freshmen and Sophomore "Intro to Construction" class has learned construction safety, industry organization, construction company organization, and basic carpentry skills. The class has constructed a bench outside Mrs. Austin's room and will soon complete an outside table at Mrs. Dill's cafe. These projects have allowed students to get outside and make some sawdust and lots of noise. The Tools for Life class has covered topics ranging from knot tying, tie tying, first aid, map reading, compass skills, identity protection, tire changing to checking one's car's tire pressure and oil level. They are learning something new every day. These classes are led by Mr. Chris Stone and we are so thankful to have his expertise here at Carrollton High School! Check out our CHS students during their first day on the floor at
12 For Life! They are learning so much and doing a great job! Students from Mr. Young’s STEM 1 class are learning about aeronautical engineering. They participated in a challenge given by NASA where they had to make a a glider out of a shoebox. What a cool project! Mr. Blakemore's classes have begun work again this school year on our weekly football game Snap Codes. They always do a great job with this and the students love seeing them each week.
Samantha Camp, who completed Culinary I (left), and Britney Maldonado, who completed Culinary II (right), recently served as assistants at the wedding of a former Trojan.
Jesse (Todd) Newhouse, class of 2018, got married on Saturday, August 20. These two ladies worked to ensure all food was replenished and served safely to the wedding guests during the reception. Jesse’s mom, Wanda Todd, who works at CJHS, said, “It was perfect! I could not have done it without those two girls and our coordinator. They were a huge help!” Our CHS STEM students from Mr. Young’s class made their own robots. They used teamwork and the skills learned in class to create these robots. They were then able to play with their robots and compete against each other. What a cool project for these students!
Check out these young Trojans who just completed the Carrollton High School Vex Robotics Camp. They spent the week learning to build, program, and drive competition robots. The Vex Robotics Camp was led by our very own STEM teacher, Mr. Luke Young. Our future is in great hands! Hey Trojans! Are you a ROBLOX fan? Our CHS Computer Science students created some super cool clothing for your ROBLOX avatars. Check it out using the links below.
