Carrollton High students toured West Georgia Technical College on January 23, 2020 talking with various instructors about programs offered at the school. They also took a tour of the facilities and classrooms. Information was shared about the new campus which will be built beginning in March, 2020.
Mr. Dodson’s World History class used CHS’s Google Expedition, virtual reality goggles in class today, which enabled students to be able to see incredible landmarks. Students explored the pyramids, the Nile River, and the temples of pharaohs all while witnessing surrounding animals, people, and other aspects of Ancient Egyptian culture up close and personal! With the goggles, students were also able to learn about how the civilizations were impacted by the river as a vital resource. Great job Brenton Wood & Luis Lopez for representing CHS in the #SkillsUSARegion3 Competition last Friday in Atlanta. Brenton competed in Advertising Design and Luis placed 3rd in Carpentry!
The teachers at CHS were invited to participate in a "STEM Lunch and Learn" during January. This "Lunch and Learn" was taught by Mr. Robby Blakemore. Mr. Blakemore helped teachers learn about ways that they could incorporate Virtual Reality goggles into their curriculum. He also gave them examples of VR lesson plans and instructed them on how they can check the goggles out for their classroom. |
