Three members of the CHS faculty presented at the West Georgia RESA STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Conference in Peachtree City on March 3-4, 2016, In his first professional conference presentation, Mr. Tim Hawig (CHS Science Teacher) made CHS proud by presenting on how to incorporate STEM in Biology. His presentation explored the state biology standards and how to link STEM activities to each standard. Participants were thrilled as he shared his dynamic STEM lessons and labs. Mr. Stacy Lawler (CHS Assistant Principal/CTAE and STEM Coordinator) and Mrs. Kasey Austin (STEM Teacher) were asked to share their presentation, "STEM - The Trojan Way," for the fourth consecutive year. Their presentation illustrates how we implement STEM through our engineering program at CHS and describes our partnership with Southwire for the CHS Southwire Engineering Academy.
